What's New for Summer 2014?

On July 8, 2014, MathXL for School will be updated with the new features described below. In addition, scheduled maintenance will occur on two other days in June. 

MathXL for School courses will not be available at the following times:

  • Saturday June 21, 2014: 1:00 AM - 6:00 AM EDT (scheduled maintenance)
  • Saturday June 28, 2014: 3:00 AM - 1:00 PM EDT (scheduled maintenance)
  • Tuesday July 8, 2014: 5:00 PM - 11:59 PM EDT (new features release)

The actual downtime may be shorter, but please do not schedule any tests or other assignments during this time.


New Features (available after July 8)

Mobile Support for iPads and Tablets

Teachers and students accessing their courses from iPads and Android tablets will be able to do work and review completed assignments. Most courses will be available with mobile support by July 30. Learn more.

Reporting Dashboard

A new reporting dashboard will allow teachers and administrators to track student progress and performance in a single course or across multiple courses. Teachers can share their course data with others in their school or district to allow administrators to monitor student progress. Use the dashboard to generate high level reports to support your data analysis needs.

Four types of reports are included in this release:

  • Overall Score Average and Distribution report
  • Assignment Average Score and Time Spent report
  • Assignment Score Distribution report
  • Mastery report

Study Plan Media Recommendations

In select courses, a new icon on the Study Plan recommendations page will enable students to easily access media resources associated with recommended objectives. Recommending these media resources along with the associated objectives will give students easy access to instructional support.

Improved Security (coming in August 2014)

All MathXL for School pages will now be rendered in https, thus ensuring that all student data will be sent using the most secure industry standards.
